Why You Must Do the First Car Maintenance
Many new car owners only focus on driving, but ignore the importance of the first scheduled maintenance. The first service is usually required at 5,000 kilometers or within 3–6 months, whichever comes first. It is not a sales trick, but a key step to protect the engine.
Although new engines are precisely manufactured, tiny metal burrs still exist inside. During the initial break-in period, these small metal particles will fall off and mix into the engine oil. If the oil and filter are not replaced in time, these particles will continuously wear the cylinder, piston, bearings and other important parts. Over time, this will reduce power, increase fuel consumption, make the engine noisier, and shorten its lifespan.
The core of the first service is replacing the engine oil and oil filter. The oil lubricates, cools and cleans the engine, while the filter traps impurities. Replacing both together ensures the engine works at its best.
In addition, technicians will check all fluid levels, tire pressure and wear, chassis bolts, lights, battery and brake system. Many people think a new car needs no inspection, which is wrong. Early problems such as uneven tire wear, soft brakes or fluid leaks can be fixed for free.
The first service is usually free. Remember: good first maintenance helps the engine last for years; delaying it only shortens the car’s life.
